You can try to point 443 instead of 5190 as a connection port.
R&Q doesn't connect. On witch step the problem occurs?
In the right bottom of the contact list while loading appears a progress bar with the procent of load:
— 0% — the connection was blocked locally by the firewall.
— 16% — you seem to work via proxy server which for some reason doesn't let you through to the server. Please check the connection settings.
— 32% — ICQ server not available. You might have reconnected too often and now you look like spam for the server. You can only wait 15—20 minutes for server to change his mind.
— 82% — the avatars are loading and one of them is loading incorrectly. We recommend you to clear the folder Devils in your profile or find broken avatar exceptionally
What to choose: stable or test version?
The stable version has well made functions. Of course nothing is perfect and there can appear a mistake — every developing product has such problems — but we are trying to minimize them.
Choosing the test version you get new features understanding that bugs and unstable work are possible. It doesn't mean that R&Q will crash permanently. It's necessary to estimate your abilities rationally and not to update your version only for that reason that there is a new one available.
Add-on's and their purpose.
Bass.dll (Bass 2.3 for R&Q 1033+)
The versions older then 1033 need bass.dll library. Bass.dll library is used in all R&Q versions for volume regulator to work and mp3 and ogg files to be played.
Historylib.dll (History synchronization)
Adds history synchronization and also deletes crashed history lines, allows to import history from XML (ICQ5, Miranda), QiP, Jimm (not rms).
Hook.dll
Is needed for auto-away to work. Necessary only for Win 98 and Win Me.
These files are additions to R&Q which are not plugins. Its necessary to copy them to the same folder where R&Q.exe lives.

How can I manage the tips and additional information in the chat window (for example, when smb got online/offline)?
Go to Main menu/Preferences/Events. You can choose event and necessary feedback in the selector.
What are the long messages and what features do they have?
Too long messages (longer then the chat window) are showed only partly (for the history to be shown quickly). To display the whole message you can scroll it down by the following combinations Ctrl+Down, Ctrl+mouse wheel or using the left scroll bar.
How to switch the R&Q interface to English?
Just delete the file RnQ_RussianXXXX.lng in the R&Q folder and restart the program.
I've updated the language module but the interface translation remained the same. Why?
In the R&Q folder must be only one *.lng file. Please delete the old one or change it's extension.
Is it possible to see when the person starts to write me a message?
Yes. Go to Main menu/Preferences/ICQ/Add traffic, choose Typing notification. If you want your recipients to see the same choose also Send typing. In addition you can enter typing idle interval, i.e. the time after which the recipient will see that you stopped typing.
How to turn on the invisibility checking?
Unfortunately for today the invisibility checking is disabled on the ICQ server. Of course there are special invisibility checking programs, for example NIC, but their way to work (sending empty URL, notification "you are added" etc) annoys the checked user considerably and wasn't added to R&Q for ethical ideas.
Is it possible to receive online notification of the chosen contact?
You can customize individual sound scheme for any contact using contacts-themes.
How can I clear the contact history?
Just delete the history file of chosen contact in your profile folder. Also while looking the contact history you can select it (Ctrl+A) and choose delete in the right-click menu. Another way (the most simple): choose delete only history in the extended right-click menu (Shift+right click).
I've closed R&Q but it still in memory and the computer doesn't turn off when R&Q works. Where is the problem?
Most probably the problem is in an incorrectly made plugin. For example the plugin Smiler NG impedes R&Q to unload from memory even after it is closed, and R&Q Weather doesn't let turn the computer off while R&Q is working. The only way out is not to use such plugins.
The invisibility doesn't work.
For the full work in invisible and privacy modes it's necessary to start R&Q with server side contact list (SSI). To do it you must turn on the option use server side contact list in the preferences (being offline) or exec R&Q with --ssi key.
I can't add the contact to the server list. There is no such option in the menu.
The contacts can be stored in the server only in groups. May be the group to which you are trying to add the contact is local. In this case just add the group itself to the server: choose the needed option in the right-click menu.
The antivirus blocks Historylib.dll.
Some antiviruses particularly AVG or Outpost have such reaction to WinUpack packer by which the library was packed. You can be sure that R&Q contains no viruses!
